THIS MONTH’S SPEAKER

Please join us in welcoming our speaker:

Elsabete (Elsa) Asrat

“Standing on Your Story”

Philippians 1:6

ElsaElsabete Asrat, known affectionately as Elsa, has woven a remarkable tapestry of resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith throughout her life’s journey. Born and raised in the vibrant culture of Ethiopia, Elsa’s early years were shaped by the rich traditions of her homeland. However, the tumult of political unrest led her to seek refuge in the bustling streets of Nairobi, Kenya, where her relationship with Christ blossomed.

Yet, it was during these challenging years that Elsa’s spirit of empathy and determination began to flourish. In the face of adversity, she discovered a profound sense of purpose that would shape her future endeavors.

Upon immigrating to Canada, Elsa embraced her new identity as a Canadian and pursued higher education at Fresno Pacific University, earning a degree in Communication. Yet, it was her return to Ethiopia that ignited her true calling. Motivated by a deep-seated compassion for marginalized women and children affected by HIV, Elsa founded the transformative ministry Loving and Leading Others. With a dedicated team, she embarked on a mission to restore dignity and purpose to the lives of those society had cast aside, instilling in them a profound sense of worth and identity.

Together with her husband Rodolfo, Elsa continues to serve as a beacon of hope, establishing a ministry house in Ethiopia where women and children find refuge, empowerment, and the means to build self-sustaining futures. As a devoted mother to her son Yonadab and daughter Elelta, Elsa exemplifies the profound love and dedication that permeates every aspect of her life. Through their unwavering commitment to faith, love, and service, Elsa and Rodolfo inspire others to embrace their own stories as testaments to God’s boundless grace and love. With each passing year, Elsa returns to Ethiopia, igniting hearts and equipping women to rise above their circumstances and fulfill their God-given potential.

Invite your friends and enjoy this wonderful evening and special message.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Each month we highlight a ministry in our community and ask our ladies attending to join us in providing some of the needs of the highlighted ministry.

Our Second Quarter Ministry (April, May & June): This quarter we are excited to partner with “Loving and Leading Others” (LALO)

Loving and Leading Others (LALO) is a compassionate nonprofit organization based in Fresno, California. Established as a 501c3 by Elsa and her husband Rodolfo, LALO focuses on empowering women and children affected by HIV. Recognizing the disproportionate impact of HIV on women and works closely with them to provide support and resources to uplift their lives.

At the heart of LALO’s mission is a commitment to fostering self-worth and empowerment through biblical teachings and practical skills training. The organization offers programs that equip women with skills such as sewing, embroideries, and beauty salon techniques, enabling them to achieve financial independence and stability.

One of LALO’s significant achievements is the establishment of a ministry home in Ethiopia, providing a safe haven for women and children in need. This initiative reflects LALO’s dedication to extending its impact beyond local communities and reaching those in vulnerable situations globally.

Needs:

  • The biggest need is cash for a new pump for water

Other ongoing needs are:

  • Threads for embroideries
  • Scissors to cut fabric
  • Measurement tapes
  • Anything to do with sewing that is small/light enough for traveling
